Westfield New York
The global company known today as Westfield Specialty began as the Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Medina County, Ohio in 1848. For Westfield’s new headquarters in New York—opened 177 years later—they wanted to celebrate both their humble origins and their many transformations over the years. Visitors traversing the office are greeted by an eye-catching timeline of Westfield’s evolution and a gallery of the cities where they operate today; in the reception area, viewers can examine original artifacts from Westfield’s time as the Ohio Farmers Insurance Company.
Other pieces around the office pay a similar homage to New York City itself, past and present. The open collaboration areas honor the different boroughs of New York with larger-than-life historical photographs, while other corridors show the iconic buildings that represent the city today. The company’s values are also placed front and center throughout, a constant reminder of Westfield’s commitment to their clients and colleagues.
